About Hearth Originals Metal Edge Floor Protectors
AJ Metal Edge Banded floor protectors are among the strongest and most durable available anywhere. The 1¼” steel angle iron edging provides rigid support and impact protection around the entire perimeter of the hearth. AJ Metal Edge Banded floor protectors are the best choice to use under large or extremely heavy stove models.
AJ Hearth Originals is our premium line of floor protectors. We work closely with our tile suppliers to obtain premium quality ceramic tiles that reflect designer trends and complement hearth appliances. Choose from 14 beautiful tile colors and combinations.
Our ember protection hearth pads were tested and approved by Omni Research to UL 1618-2009. Note: All ember protection hearth pads are designed for spark and ember protection only. Per the national standard codes, there is no “R” value associated with any and all ember protection hearth pads.
Our thermal protection hearth pads were tested and approved by U.L. Laboratories. Our thermal protection hearth pads are a U.L. listed product. The “R” rating for our A.J. Hearth Originals thermal pad is R = 2.1.

Dimensions
Pad thickness: All thermal pads are 1-1/2″ thick. All ember protection pads below the size of 48″ x 48″ are 1-1/4″ thick, while sizes 48″ x 48″ and above are 1-1/2″ thick. Please Note: Actual tile and stone colors may vary significantly from the digitized picture samples shown. We recommend that you visit your local AJ dealer to view material samples.
